Champions League 1st Qualifying Round Result

You Will Never Walk Alone 2005
Super-sub Stevie guranteed Liverpool's comfortable passage to the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League after finding the target twice within 60 seconds, increasing his goal-tally this season to 5 super goals. Liverpool beat TNS 3-0 in the 2nd-leg of their 1st qualifying round tie for a 6-0 aggregate win.

The Reds will next face Lithuanian champions FBK Kaunas, who beat Faroe Island's FB Torshavn's 8-2 on aggregate.
Simliar to the 1st-leg, TNS played a superb match keeping the Champions at bay for most of the match. Cisse scored Liverpool's first goal after 26 minutes to ease any fears of an upset. Hamann missed a spot-kick in the 2nd-half, and TNS had a shot hit the bar, and a goal disallowed for offsides. Gerrard came on late to seal the deal, scoring twice in the 85th and 86th minutes.

Liverpool will play the 1st-leg in the 2nd qualifying round away on 26/07, before returing home for the 2nd-leg on 02/08.

Liverpool
3 TNS 0 (Prediction: Liverpool 5 TNS 0)
